Dimensional Gaging
Probe Products Corporation built a solid reputation for reliability of high speed analog to digital conversion with the HSI-24 system.
The HSI provided signal conditioning for up to 96 high-precision transducers on one computer.
Each system could also support 16 analog DC voltage inputs. Inductive transducers of any type including LVDT,
RVDT, LVRT, Half-Bridge and Proximity were accommodated. The HSI-24 was contained on a full size ISA bus
expansion card that fit into an IBM compatible computer. The change in technology was the impetus for the redesign
of our system.
We continue to produce a rugged, factory grade, intelligent signal conditioning system known as the HSU.
Probe Products Corporation's HSU is a high speed
transducer signal conditioner for up to 128 inductive transducers of any type (including
LVDT, RVDT, LVRT, half-bridge and proximity).
With the HSU, real-time collection
of dimensional data is possible at greater cost effectiveness than conventional signal
conditioning methods. It is infinitely faster than using coordinate measuring machines and much more cost effective.
Data collection is fast and efficient. The HSU can perform 20,000 or more readings per second with 14 bit resolution.
The HSU self-contained signal conditioning system connects up to 128 probes through either
the USB port or Serial port. This unit is made for flexibility in connecting to any computer.

Measurement inputs are grouped into 4 per module. Each unit has up to 4 modules. Each unit can be connected up to 128 inputs.
We have modules for LVDTs, strain gages and digital inputs.
A powerful on-board processor performs multiple real-time computations (such as A+B,
max/min hold, TIR and trigonometric functions) before transferring measurements to the
host computer. The form of the computations are user configurable to match the
application. Measurement values can be presented in a way most meaningful to the
operator. Data collection is fast and efficient, the HSI-24 can perform 20,000 or
more readings per second with 14 bit resolution. Measurements can be directly
imported into a variety of standard SPC software systems. The HSI-24's network
compatibility allows use on a low cost diskless workstation where the operator gets
instant dimensional data and the network provides for archiving, detailed analysis and
report generation at a central computer.
To acquaint new users with the powerful features of the HSU, an application program
is available. This program can be used as supplied to set up a measurement system, or it can be used as a
basis for customized software.
